Tristan was confused, confused and pissed off mixed with a large helping of sadness as he stared at his surroundings. He was sitting in the lounge of Pencey academy but he wasn’t ‘lounging’ or doing whatever he was supposed to be doing in the lounge. Instead he was sitting tensely in a chair that was towards the corner of the room watching with wide, honey colored eyes that showed his emotions clearly. He shouldn’t be in this place, he should be at home ignoring his father’s rants about religion and peering over his mother’s shoulder to see what was for supper. However he was in Pencey, he was in the lounge and those thoughts were basically pointless since he was probably never going to see his parents again. It wasn’t like he wanted to see them either, he hated them now and they hated him even if his mother would never say that out loud her actions were enough of a clear message; he was a disappointment, he was the problem child who wasn’t needed certainly wasn’t wanted.
He sighed heavily, letting his head thump back against the chair so he could stare up at the ceiling instead of watching the room. In attempt to drown out the depression that seemed to want to engulf him, Tristan popped in his earbuds and turned the volume on his I-pod up as long as he could. Tristan shuffled through the songs and giggled softly as the Time Warp song came on. There wasn’t anything better than a meaningless song to cheer him up. He moved his fingers along to the beat as he tried to replicate the dance with them. It was probably not the most normal thing to be doing on his first day at the school but he didn’t feel like hiding his hyper personality under layers of fake personalities; he just wanted to have fun for now to take his mind off of where he was. Besides, no one was in the lounge anyways. He gave the lounge a cautious glance before grinning and standing up from the chair. He closed his eyes and followed the directions that the voices were singing, biting his lip to stop his grin from growing. No one was going to see him so letting loose a little wouldn’t hurt.
